The unfolding situation in Russia and Ukraine astrologically

To get a sense of what is developing charts for the spring equinox, the chart of Vladimir Putin and the charts of Russia and the Ukraine were made. The significant degree, because of the cardinal grand cross coming in April is 13 degrees. The grand cross will be at 13 degrees Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. 13 degrees of cardinal signs is a critical degree; it shows a crisis. The planets involved are Uranus at 13 degrees Aries, Jupiter at 13 degrees Cancer, Mars at 13 degrees Libra and Pluto at 13 degrees Capricorn.

Looking at the national charts of Russia, December 21, 1991 and December 25, 1991 we find Uranus at 13 degrees Capricorn. Russia is under the sign Aquarius. Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius, and therefore of Russia. As the two charts for Russia have Aquarius on the 9th and 7th house cusps, respectively, the crisis involves Russian foreign relations. We see Pluto in conjunction with Russia's natal Uranus from February 26 through June 4 complicating Russia's international monetary, trade and diplomatic relations. Pluto turns retrograde in mid-April timing repercussions.
The Ascendant of the spring equinox chart at Moscow is at 13 degrees Libra exactly square Pluto in Capricorn. This shows the crisis developing. Mars is rising in the 1st house of this chart, showing the people in an angry mood.

An interesting aspect in the spring equinox chart worth noting is between the mean lunar node and the Sun. The mean node is at 00:06 Scorpio, and the Sun is at 00:00 Aries. This shows a fatality coming. This, compounding the indications of the grand cross, spells something explosive likely to happen.

The spring equinox chart for the Ukraine, like the chart for Russia, has Mars rising in the 1st house. The people in the Ukraine are in turmoil. Uranus is afflicted in the 7th house. Uranus is square Jupiter and Pluto, and opposite the Ascendant. This brings disruptive trouble to Ukraine through foreign interferences.
The national charts of the Ukraine, August 24, 1991 and December 1, 1991 have Uranus at 10 and 11 degrees Capricorn, respectively, while Neptune is at 14 and 15 degrees Capricorn, respectively. While the grand cross doesn't come to exact aspect these positions, it does point to worsening trouble in Ukrainian economic conditions as well as to worsening foreign relations and to a lot of confusion coming out of that country through misinformation reported in the news. The spring equinox position of Uranus is exactly square Ukraine's natal Uranus showing that country in a social and economic crisis.

From looking at the charts of the Ukraine and Russia it appears that the worse crisis is happening in Russia. The Sun's aspect to the mean lunar node may involve both countries. The flight of ethnic Russians from the Ukraine and the Crimea into Russia, and the flight of money out of Russia does not help Russia.

Looking at the birth chart of Vladimir Putin we find his Sun at 13 degrees Libra. His natal Sun is in the 11th house and rules his 10th. His natal Sun is directly involved in the coming grand cross, showing that his career is being challenged. He has a huge problem on his hands.

Looking at the 1776 Gemini rising chart of the US we see the Sun at 12 degrees Cancer in the 2nd house. The grand cross will adversely affect the financial condition of the US. How much money the US can afford to throw at the Ukraine is questionable.
From the look of the spring equinox chart the US is unlikely to become any more deeply engaged in the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine than it has already. Instead, the spring equinox chart has afflicted and intercepted Uranus in the 10th house showing potentially disruptive developments inside Government circles which, if not handled carefully, can lead to resignations or defeat. This also holds true for leading corporate circles in the US during the spring quarter. Mars afflicted in the 4th house of the chart confirms the above.

Will there be a War? Horary astrological answer

According to to rules of horary astrology, there will be a war if the rulers of the 1st and 7th houses are mutually afflicting in or from an angular house or if they have translation of light by square or opposition from another planet. In this chart we find the Moon applying to opposition Mars and to square Venus, Mars and Venus being the rulers of the 7th and 1st houses, respectively. The answer is yes; the probability is showing. The only hope of no in this is that Mars is retrograde, and inclined to back off or lessen his aggression. But, war is a real possibility nonetheless.
We also find the Ascendant of this chart conjunct the malefic star Algol, denoting losing one's head.
Mars is in the 6th house of military service, and Venus is in the 9th of foreign affairs and international trade. This conflict will affect the markets, and, if it goes too far, gas supplies to western Europe, therefore gas prices.
We can only hope that the tyrants in both the west and east quit this insanity.

The chart of Russia, Dec 21 1991, and the chart of the first flag raising in Russia, Dec 25 1991, have Uranus at 13 degrees Capricorn. Russia is under Aquarius. Russia is going to experience a crisis this spring. Uranus will be at 13 degrees Aries square Pluto at 13 degrees Capricorn.

Chinese astrological portrait of Hilary Clinton

Considering questions about Hilary Clinton running for President next year her Chinese astrological chart was drawn up. This is what it says.

Born on October 26, 1947 at 8:02 AM, the signs of her year, month, day and hour are Fire Pig, Metal Dog, Earth Tiger and Fire Dragon, respectively. Her birth stars are Seven Metal, Three Wood, and Nine Fire. Her Personality as shown by the combination of Fire Pig and Earth Tiger is imaginative and intuitive. She is down to earth and practical, and works very hard for what she wants.

Chinese spring season

In spite of the weather we have been having, February 4 marked the beginning of spring by the Chinese calendar. Spring and the Chinese solar year always begin exactly mid-point the winter solstice and the vernal equinox, i.e., the equivalent of 15 degrees Aquarius.


The solar calendar uses the 9 star system, this year's star being 4 Wood. The image of 4 Wood star is wind. It means that this year is particularly active and changeable. Many developments are coming, along with many changes of mind. Old conditions are shifting quickly. There can be resistance, arguments and a lot of noise in the world, but change is coming nonetheless.


Because we are all born under different stars, we can find our fortunes by the 9 star system. To find your star, keeping in mind that the 9 star year usually begins on February 4th, look at this table and, if you don't find your year in it, either add or subtract 9 or multiples of 9 to get your year star number. Keep in mind, if you were born before February 4th of a particular year, you would use the prior year as your birth year. For example, if you were born on January 28, 1962, you would calculate your birth star using 1961 as your birth year. Also note: the star numbers are different for males and females.

1981 for males is 1; for females is 5
1982 for males is 9; for females is 6
1983 for males is 8; for females is 7
1984 for males is 7; for females is 8

The stars rotate every year and month. According to their positions for this year, the year of 4 Wood we have the following indications.


1 Water shows slow steady progress. Every step you take can lead in a positive direction if you use careful deliberation. Be careful not to become exhausted. Good leadership brings what has been begun to success. Take positive action with experienced persons when good opportunities present themselves.


2 Earth shows sudden changes that can be difficult to deal with. Stay clear of incessant pressure. On the other hand, if you give into self indulgence instead of remaining firm you will become weak and possibly ill.


3 Wood is extremely active, flexible conditions that will call for thinning out, getting rid of wastes of your time. Many opportunities are coming up. Be sincere. True sincerity  will be appreciated. If you act with consideration for others you will achieve fulfillment of your desires.


4 Wood is in a pivotal year. It is a fortunate year for new beginnings, but unfortunate for getting into arguments. If arguments come up you could seriously damage a relationship. Be very careful. Restoring deteriorating conditions is beneficial. If you take initiative and help others you will win praise.


5 Earth is in a highly advantageous position if leading a business venture or involved in creative work. You are being called on to bring stagnation to an end by uniting divergent elements in your life.


6 Metal has some dreams to explore. Romance may be in the air. Contracts may be in the offing. Nonetheless, unless you pay attention to details you might end up losing in the end. Be thorough in everything you do this year. You must use determination to cut out adverse conditions and bad people this year.


7 Metal is turning a corner. It is good to explore, good to save up, good to learn something new, good to teach too. Cultivating yourself inwardly is the key to your success this year. It is time to recognize the truth and to take appropriate actions.


8 Earth is free to travel in life, in whatever sense that brings to mind. It is time to enter new territory. Introduce yourself properly so that you progress and achieve success. Trust your intuition.

In Feng Shui the year star puts the star of destruction in the northwest. If your door faces the northwest either hang a bagua mirror above the door, facing the northwest, or put five copper coins under the doormat to repel the vibrations of this star. The coins are arranged in an inverted V with the point facing out the door.


The star of sickness is in the east. If your door faces east either put a bagua over the door facing east or put five copper coins under the mat as described above.


If you are moving house the unlucky directions to move this year are northwest, southeast, east and west of where you currently live.  The luckiest directions are northeast and southwest.

Woody Allen seen in Chinese astrology

In light of the question whether Woody Allen had molested his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, at age 7, Mr.Allen's Chinese astrological chart was calculated.


Woody Allen was born on December 1, 1935 at 10:35 PM in the Bronx. In Chinese, the year, month, day, and hour were Wood Pig, Earth Rat, Metal Pig, and Earth Pig, respectively. Pig year, day and hour, tell us that Mr. Allen is extremely sensitive and that he has suffered a major tragic event in his life.




Pig and Rat are Water signs. In addition to having these, Mr. Allen was born in Water season (winter). All this Water says that Mr. Allen is a brain. He is predominantly intellectual.




Mr. Allen was born in the year of 2 Earth Star, and the month of 2 Earth star. These also show that Mr. Allen is emotionally very sensitive.




Since the case involves Mia Farrow, her signs need to be viewed as well. Mia Farrow was born 2/9/1945, the year of Wood Monkey and the day of Earth Rooster. Her birth star was 5 Earth and her month star was 7 Metal. She and Mr. Allen were compatible as long as she had the upper hand. Monkey and Pig clash, and 5 Earth dominates 2 Earth.




Woody Allen's birth chart has 5 Waters, 4 Woods, 0 Fires, 3 Earths and 1 Metal. He was born on a day of Metal. Metal is extremely weak in this chart, and proves that Mr. Allen is vulnerable to attack.



00 Fire in the chart shows that when Fire comes up in progression Mr. Allen is subject to trouble. Fire attacks Metal. Mr. Allen's birth element is Metal. It just turns out that Mr. Allen's luck cycle of age 56 to 66 is Horse. Horse is Fire. Mr. Allen was attacked then. Interesting, this year, 2014, when the scandal rears its head again, is the year of Horse. Horse is Fire, and Fire gives Mr. Allen a bad headache.




Looking at the time of the accusation, 1991. Mr. Allen turned 56 in 1991, the year of Metal Sheep. Metal Sheep fights with the sign of Mr. Allen's day of Birth, Metal Pig. This shows trouble in the marriage in 1991, the year of the alleged molestation. Age 56 also started a  new10 year cycle in Mr. Allen's life. The sign of the cycle is Water Horse. Water Horse attacks the sign of the month sign of Mr. Allen's chart, that being Earth Rat. This shows that Mr. Allen's reputation was being attacked.




Mr. Allen was involved in an affair that resulted in 1997 in his marriage with Mia Farrow's daughter, Soon Yi.  Soon Yi was born on 10/8/1970, the year of Metal Dog and day of Metal Rooster, 3 Wood being her birth star. It is clear that Mr. Allen likes strong women; Soon Yi is a lot stronger than Mia Farrow. She rules the roost, so to say.




It is my opinion that the trouble in the relationship between Mia Farrow and Woody Allen came up in 1991, and that something that may or may not have happened between Mr. Allen and his adopted daughter, Dylan, was twisted and blown up out of proportion, and was used by Ms. Farrow to create a scandal meant to harm Mr. Allen. Mr. Allen, in other words, was the victim of character assassination.

Chinese astrological predictions for the year of Wood Horse

The Chinese lunar new year always begins at the 2nd new moon after the winter solstice. There are 60 signs in the Chinese astrological system. These consist of 12 basic signs with 5 elements for each of them. For example, there is a Wood Horse, a Fire Horse, an Earth Horse, a Metal Horse and a Water Horse. Horse  comes up every 12th year. Wood Horse repeats every 60th year, and so on.


The year of Wood Horse begins with the new moon of January 30/31, 2014. It is the 28th year in the 60 year cycle. Reduced to an I Ching hexagram, to get a simple outlook for the entire world, the beginning (1st hour of the 1st day of the 1st month of the 28th year) gives us the first line of hexagram 39.


The 39th hexagram is called Obstruction. Water is above, the mountain is below. And while it shows an impasse, it says that surprises that may make you happy are coming, and that chances for prosperity will develop. Good fortune may come, but from very far away. International business relations are actively developing, but not without dangers and challenges. The time of this hexagram is very late at night when everything is quiet.
Hexagram 39, Obstruction, is one of the four evil hexagrams in the I Ching. It advises to be mindful of limitations and use your money and resources for learning new skills for the future. Water above, and mountain below describes a high cliff behind you and a rushing river in front of you, and suddenly you discover a tiger stalking you. Heedlessly forging ahead brings you into greater danger.
The hexagram says the southwest furthers, the northeast does not further. The southwest signifies working together and cooperating with others. The northeast signifies standing alone. It also says that it furthers to see the great man, and that perseverance brings good fortune. This means that the time favors self-development in conditions of adversity.
Line 1 says that going leads to difficulties, but coming back wins praise. Impulsive action results in opposition. Forging ahead rashly leads to trouble. Watch carefully. Truth comes out in time.
The first line of this hexagram reduced to an astrological figure, and judged against the signs of the first day and first month of the year show conflicts developing all through the year, and that these conflicts will call for courageous leadership. But, not everyone in power has the wisdom that this calls for.


Wood Horse is one of the most dynamic, active of all the 60 signs in the Chinese zodiac. It drives forward relentlessly. Wood and Horse combine to produce Metal. The nature of Metal produced by Wood Horse makes this sign ruthlessly determined, cutting edge, and dangerous for conflict. It has a militant quality and succeeds come hell or high water. Considering the indications seen by the I Ching hexagram, some degree of shrewdness is needed. Metal can be totally shrewd. It is the most refined of the elements. The world game this year is going to be especially elegant and dangerous.

In terms of the 9 Star system, this is also the year of 4 Wood Star. 4 Wood star is extremely flexible and active. Many points of view will shift and change this year. Not much can be relied upon to stay constant. Many arguments can spring up, and the weather will be stormy and windy. On a positive side, this can bring opportunities to those of us who are flexible, adaptable and skillful.


Because of the time of the new moon, the signs for the world west of Eastern European Time are different than those east of that time zone. West of EET new year begins on the day of Metal Ox. East of EET it begins on the day of Water Tiger. East of the time zone the indications are more yang, meaning, the east tends to take the lead this year. Violence and contention coming up in the east will increase. The violence in the Ukraine, for example, will escalate. The zone east of EET includes eastern Europe, all of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.


The new year chart made for China has a predominance of Wood and Fire. There is no Metal. China this year is very active in all areas of business and finance. The deity of the chart is called Implicit Talent. This shows innovative, boundless creative activity. The arts are flourishing. No Metal may indicate conflict with the west, possibly in the Fall.


The new year chart made for the UK and the EU has a predominance of Water. This could indicate a lot of rain with flooding, and a very cold winter in 2014-15. The chart deity is called Conventional Wealth. It focuses on matters of finance. Important decisions are made. UK and the EU now have three stars of Tien Yi. This may be lucky. They may help resolve the predicament. Whether this is peaceful or violent has yet to be seen. The Robbing Star is also showing. Who steals from whom is not a riddle.


The new year chart made for the US also has predominant Water, indicating rain, flooding and a very cold winter. Extremes of weather are to be expected. The chart deities are called Conventional Wealth and Talent. As in the UK and EU, this focuses on matters of finance. And it focuses on innovative, creative activity. This will be a productive year for the arts in America. In addition to three Tien Yi stars, the US chart has Traveling Horse, Knife Blade and Heaven Medicine. Traveling Horse shows changes coming in business. Coinciding with Knife Blade, it says that these changes will involve extreme competition. Not everyone will succeed. The business climate will be extremely cut throat. Heaven Medicine star suggests developments coming in medicine.


Forecasts for the 12 zodiac signs.


Rat in the year of Horse is challenged by opposition. It is important for you to be productive and meet your challenges creatively. Financial gains are possible, especially in the second half of the year. This is a good year for you to use your talent and wit to turn problematic situations to your advantage. The year favors moving, rearranging your home, and making necessary changes at work. If you are in a relationship this year could bring you a lot of pleasure.


Ox has a complex relation to Horse. The challenge that Wood Horse makes on Ox to be productive can be exhausting. It is important for you to pay attention to your health, to take time out for relaxation and play, and to pay attention to personal cultivation. Horse is the Star of Romance for Ox. It says this a good year for you to be in love.


Tiger gets along very well with Horse. Horse invites Tiger to be productive and prosperous. Wood Horse brings you lots of social possibilities; it encourages you stand out and demonstrate your leadership abilities. It is a very good year for you to rise up in the world.


Rabbit is at an advantage this year. It is good to be productive and to take advantage of your opportunities. Be careful to resist temptation to engage in conflict. This could be a year for romance.


Dragon may rest on its laurels this year, but not rely on the support it imagines it is getting. Be careful not to let yourself be fooled. Not everything is the way it seems. While you are strong, you may find the demands made on you exhausting.  It is easiest for you to rely on yourself this year.


Snake is not in the strongest position this year. Your situation can be like playing second fiddle when it is better not to. You may not be as effective as you might like to think you are. Better turn your attention to yourself, satisfy your thirst for knowledge, study something new, and work to solve whatever problems you have. While you are protected by Wood Horse, it will be very much to your advantage to take care of your health this year.


Horse in the year of Horse is extremely active. Horse clashes with Horse. This means there is the chance that your patience will run out from time to time, and to your disadvantage. Be careful to avoid acting destructively; you can wreck your situation if you do. That said, you are in a commanding position and can stand out and show your leadership abilities to advantage this year.


Sheep and Horse are very friendly. Sheep is supported and cheered by Horse. This is a good year for you to build up your money, to do away with nonessentials, and to build positive relationships. Friendly people will come to your aid this year. The tide will turn in your favor.


Monkey is challenged by Horse. January 1 new moon in astrology

A new moon on new year's day means a new start in every sense for the whole world as new year is a universal celebration - a universally shared moment. Because of the astrological configuration shown at this new moon, the watchword for the year is 'either break through or break down.' It's either/or this year, folks. Surprising and dramatic events and developments, good and bad, will come about. There is lots of tension that can be used creatively and destructively. This is an excellent year. This new moon is also a super moon, meaning it brings up changes in the earth itself. We can anticipate storms and increased seismic activity to come.

The new moon occurred on January 1 at 11:15 AM GMT. It forms a cardinal grand cross with the Sun, Moon, Pluto and Mercury in Capricorn opposite Jupiter in Cancer, and square to Mars in Libra and square to Uranus in Aries. The very basic nature of this configuration is maximum tension. Aggressive moves will be made by Governments, banking institutions, entrepreneurs and corporations. Clashes will ensue. The strong will win, whatever the cost. The wise will take shrewd and positively decisive steps, and not fear.  

Of significance, 10 and 11 degrees Capricorn, the degrees in which we find this new moon and Pluto, respectively, point directly to the UK, the Eurozone and the Ukraine. These are areas of maximum tension; radical change must occur.

There is tremendous tension in the Government, facing growing opposition. The people are in an angry mood; strikes, rioting, violence, assassinations, and rising up against authority should not surprise us if and when they occur. Mars afflicted in the 7th house shows international disputes. The new moon severely afflicted in the 10th house also points to illness and possible death among nobility, and loss of national honor.

Because the chart for Bruxelles is so similar to the chart for the UK we can expect much turbulence in the EU as well.

There is discontent and ill health among the majority of the people whose affairs generally are not going along satisfactorily. Mars and Uranus are in the 9th and 3rd houses show discontentment voiced in media. Watch out for deliberate fear mongering. Mars conjunct the 10th house cusp with Uranus conjunct the 4th house cusp points to discontentment with the Government. Mars afflicting the 10th house cusp points to trouble in the Government connected to military affairs and to the growing unpopularity of the Government. Mars' opposition to Uranus, with Uranus in the 3rd house conjunct the 4th house cusp warns of possible explosions in public buildings as well as possible dangers of car accidents, train wrecks and/or air crashes. It also points to dissention over taxes, especially property taxes. Jupiter afflicted in the 7th house square Mars in conjunction with the 10th house cusp points to quarrels with foreign powers in connection with financial and trade issues.

The general business climate, seen from these charts, is dynamic, highly competitive and exciting. There are breakthroughs to be had. Companies that are ailing may crash while others win. Those that succeed will move fast forward. January, to say the least, is a very dynamic month.
