The solar eclipse of September 13, 2015

The solar eclipse of September 13 occurred at 7:55 AM GMD. It was a partial eclipse at 20 degrees Virgo, and was visible from the area of South Africa down to Antarctica. The effects of a solar eclipse are periodic through at least one year, and can extend up to three. This eclipse will be followed by a total lunar eclipse on September 28 at 4 degrees Aries.

An eclipse over the ice shelf of Antarctica suggests that there could be a break in the ice affecting the ocean in the southern hemisphere this coming summer.

A traditional reading of a solar eclipse in the 3rd decanate of Virgo points to troubles and adversity, with possible imprisonment of artists and those who live by their wits, in other words, dissidents.

The eclipse is involved in very few aspects. It forms only one aspect: sextile Saturn at 29 degrees Scorpio. An eclipse in Virgo has to do with food, supplies, and medicine. It's aspect with Saturn, especially in Scorpio, suggests want. 29 degrees is at the end of its tether, and gives something to weep about, as it is opposite the Pleiades, aka The Weeping Sisters. This points to many people in desperate straights.

Countries and regions ruled by Virgo include Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Kurdistan, the Greek islands, the Balkans, Switzerland, and so on. Cities ruled by Virgo include Paris, Jerusalem, and others.

Toward and around this eclipse we see the migration for better or worse of people coming up into Europe from those parts of the world ruled by Virgo.

The eclipse, as seen in the charts for UK and EU, is in the 12th house. This points to a huge burden on welfare and a rise in criminal activity to be expected over the coming months. Mercury is in the 1st house, square to Pluto in the 4th house, and opposite Uranus in the 7th house. The people, especially, as seen in Greece and eastern Europe, are alarmed. Disturbing reports will come out later this and next week when Mercury turns retrograde and Pluto turns direct.

The eclipse, as seen in the chart for the US, is in the 2nd house. Jupiter is also in the 2nd house. While this should bring a boost to stock market economic activity, it is not entirely reliable, and warns of stock market losses as well. Jupiter is opposite Neptune in the 8th house. It points out deceptive conditions. And the eclipse is quincunx to Uranus. Uranus is retrograde in Aries in the 10th house of the NYSE. It warns of erratic conditions. On the other side of the world, in China, the eclipse happens in the 8th house. Mars and Jupiter are in the 8th house as well, and Jupiter is in opposition with Neptune in the 2nd house warning of losses. The Chinese chart is the mirror opposite of the US chart. Both US and Chinese charts interact. Chinese conditions affect American conditions, and vice versa. Neptune in opposition with Jupiter confuses matters in both places. Manipulating the markets is tricky business. Neptune in the 2nd house in the Chinese chart denotes unfortunate manipulation of the markets.

Speaking of finances, Switzerland, the land of banks, is indicated as affected by this eclipse in Virgo. Virgo also rules foods and medicines, in other words, Big Ag, and Big Pharma, and related companies. Watch banks, agricultural corporations, food commodities, and pharmaceutical corporations. Merck is a Swiss pharmaceutical company.

The eclipse, as seen in the chart for Iran, is in the 10th house. Jupiter is in the 10th house as well. Jupiter is in detriment in Virgo, so not as strong. An eclipse in the 10th house bodes ill for the Government. The traditional reading for this is disaster. Because the eclipse was not visible in Iran the reading must be modified. Nonetheless, it does not look sanguine for the Government of that country. Saturn is in the 1st house in this chart. Saturn at 29 degrees Scorpio in the 1st house is very evil. It shows distress and discontentment. Pluto is in the 2nd house. Poverty is in Iran. All the hatred the Government generates in the people is misdirection. It is how the Government distracts attention from itself. Saturn is in mutual reception with Pluto. Saturn and Pluto are in semi-square aspect. It says ways around the trouble generate different kinds of trouble, including underground activity, possibly drug trafficking. Mercury in the 11th house is square Pluto in the 2nd house and opposite Uranus in the 5th house. There is a great deal of economic disorder and theft.

The eclipse, as seen in the chart for Australia, is in the 7th house. Jupiter is in the 6th opposite Neptune in the 12th. The eclipse in the 7th house brings difficulties in foreign relations, or conflicts with foreigners living in Australia.

Summer Solstice in Astrology

Summer solstice, or the Cancer Ingress, happened on June 21 at 3:39 PM GMT, or 12:39 PM EST.

The Sun is separating from conjunction with Mars, Mars at 28 degrees Gemini. This has been a few very intense days leading up to the solstice, and we can expect the energy through the summer to be equally intense. Fortunately, Mars is not at 29 degrees which would have signaled danger of rash and violent actions.
We see, nonetheless, the Moon at 29 degrees Leo square Saturn at 29 degrees Scorpio retrograde. This is a hard aspect denoting stubbornness and, because the square is in Leo and Scorpio, hatred and cruelty in the world; 29 degrees, especially fixed signs (Leo and Saturn are fixed signs) points to a crying matter. The waves of terrorism and insanity are not about to stop.
Moon is just past square to Saturn, sextile to Mars, and is applying to sextile to the Sun, then opposition to Neptune, and square to Mercury. The Moon sextile Sun is productive of good. but the opposition Neptune and square Mercury will bring confusion and treachery - lots of misinformation, fear mongering, and political trickery is to be anticipated.
The Sun at 00 Cancer and the Moon at 29 Leo are in mutual reception helping to ease some of the more difficult conditions to a degree, and allowing people in key positions to skirt issues, avoid confrontations, and save face.
Venus is forming conjunction with Jupiter in Leo. This will bring a financially more buoyant time through the summer and all the way through October. Jupiter at 19 degrees Leo and Venus at 14 degrees Leo are both trine Uranus at 20 degrees Aries in the 10th house of the New York Stock Exchange chart. The market will move higher in the coming days.

The summer solstice chart for Washington DC has the Sun and Mars in the 10th house, at the zenith. For Mars this is an evil position, especially with Mars quincunx Saturn, semisquare Venus and Jupiter, and square the Ascendant, and Mars ruling the 8th house. This position of Mars points to military activity. It also points to illness and death of someone of considerable importance in the highest of circles, especially since Mars rules the 8th house, the 8th house denoting death. It also points to trouble in the Government. Mars conjunct the Sun and sextile the Moon shows military activity. Because Mars is in Gemini, and is 2 degrees away from the Sun it is afflicted and weak, and is not a good sign for military involvement. Probably it points to lost lives in mismanaged military actions abroad. There probably will be some military, probably police activity and street violence inside the country as well. Retrograde Saturn in the 3rd house quincunx Mars points to repetitions of street violence. More ugly events are probably coming.

The summer solstice chart for UK and the EU has the Sun and Mars in the 8th house quincunx Saturn in the 1st house. The people are suffering badly for lack of work, poverty and poor health. This is a very bad sign.
The Moon, Jupiter, and Venus are all intercepted in the 9th house trine Uranus in the 5th house. International diplomatic negotiations deals are happening behind closed doors. Moon square Saturn does not help the people. Sun and Mars in the 8th house quincunx Saturn in the 1st points to debt and poverty. Moon in the 9th house applying to opposition Neptune in the 4th house points to problems involving oil and gas. It also points to repeated incitements to violence, and protests involving treacherous, or terrorist activity. Neptune is square Mercury.
In the chart of Greece, we see Pluto moving back and forth over the cusp of the 7th house. Pluto is now 14 degrees retrograde in Capricorn. The 7th house of the Greece chart is 13 degrees Capricorn. Foreign countries, namely the EU, are imposing extremely destructive conditions on Greece. They could force Greece to withdraw from the EU, and could force drastic conditions. Greece is not happy with any of it. The health of the people suffers, and conditions are extremely complicated.

The summer solstice chart for China has Sun and Mars in the 3rd house with Moon in the 6th denoting much progress in rails and transportation systems, but it also warning of accidents in these areas. Uranus is in the 1st house denoting turbulence and arguing. This points to the situation in Hong Kong. It will continue. It also warns of renewed Islamist terrorist activity, possibly from Xinjian. Uranus trine Venus and Jupiter in the 5th house, however, may help ease or or turn the problems around. This Venus - Uranus aspect is also very good for innovative and speculative activity. There will be some surprising new developments in Chinese business. Venus rules the 2nd house and is in the 5th house. Some interesting upswings in the market can be anticipated. Mercury is in the 2nd house square Neptune in the 12th and square Moon in the 6th. This warns of gyrations in the market. There will also be losses, and they will be unexpected and confusing. Moon in the 6th house sextile Mars and Sun, but forming opposition Neptune and square Mercury points to problems involving the Navy, and not favoring the Navy.The situation over the islands in the South China Sea is coming to some confusion. Money involved in the project involving those islands will be wasted. There may be much coming and going to no purpose. Pluto in the 10th house, Pluto ruling the 8th house, with Saturn in the 8th point to the removal and/or death of a prominent figure, possibly someone involved in the Government.

Vernal equinox in astrology

The vernal equinox came on March 20 at 11:03 AM GMT. The vernal equinox marks the astrological new year. The chart has two main planetary configurations: a grand trine and a T-Square.

The grand trine is in water. It is between Moon in Cancer, Neptune and Mercury in Pisces, and Saturn in Scorpio. Mercury and Neptune are in conjunction. This brings to the world a broad and deeply expansive emotional and imaginative energy thorugh the spring. The trine of Saturn to Neptune and Mercury is generally favorable for those in employment of the state and suggests general political reforms and changes to the advantage of the people, especially the poor. Mercury in conjunction with Neptune modifies the more sanguine indications of this grand trine, as it hints of scandals, secret crimes, frauds, and dishonesty and trickery in Government deals. Subversive elements are in the works. This is confirmed by Mercury square and in mutual reception with Jupiter in Gemini. The square of Mercury and Jupiter tell of secret crimes, frauds and swindles, as well as unsavory news and scandals involving religious figures. The Moon trine Saturn increases the power of the people. The Moon in good aspect with Mercury favors literary persuits and publishing. as well as scientific progress. It also brings much flapdoodle, i.e. political speech making, and favors trade agreements. The Moon trine Neptune favors all forms of charity and democratic, socialistic developments. The people are a major force this year. They will come to clash with the powers that be.

The Moon at 7 degrees Cancer is in her 8th mansion and 10th lunar house. The 8th mansion, called Amathura, favors the people. It also favors traveling, or movement toward the goal. The 10th lunar house also favors traveling. It also brings dangers of illness. It demands perseverance and flexibility; success does not come easily.

The second major configuration of planets, the T-square involves Venus (at 27 degrees Pisces), the Sun (at 00 degrees Aries), Mars (at 6 degrees Aries), and Uranus (at 8 degrees Aries) square the Moon and Pluto, the Moon being opposite Pluto. The Sun, Mars and Uranus all in conjunction are bringing up violent force. Square to Pluto and the Moon this will become explosive. So, we see the expansiveness of the above mentioned grand trine combining with the extreme dynamism of the T-square to bring turmoil to the entire world this year. The energy will be tremendous. There will be large events in the earth and in the weather, and the people in large number will be engaging in loud protests, especially in Europe, but in other places as well. The Moon opposite Pluto compounds complications in all spheres of activity involving the people, and it brings out criminal elements; popular movements will be infiltrated by underground crime and secret military forces. Moon and Pluto square Mars and Uranus confirm this. Violence is coming. Sun, Mars and Uranus are in Aries. Countries ruled by Aries, (and influenced by Aries), are prone to violence. These include UK, Germany, Israel, Palestine, Denmark, (France), Iceland, (Japan), (New Zealand), Poland, (Spain), Syria. Places ruled by Cancer and Capricorn will also be places of turmoil and violence. The Moon in Cancer points to the Netherlands, and New York City. Pluto in Capricorn points to India, Punjab, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Greece, Mexico, the states of Saxony, Hesse, Styria, and to the all-important city of Bruxelles. Bruxelles is the king pin of the EU. The EU is in hot water this year.

The vernal equinox in the UK has Venus, Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 10th house square Moon rising in the 12th and Pluto conjunct the 7th house cusp. This puts tremendous pressure on the current Government. The Sun afflicted by conjunction Mars and Uranus, square Moon, and square Pluto points to illness and death among royalty, serious troubles in the Government and loss of national honor. Mars conjunct Uranus and square Moon and Pluto points to much violence if not involvement in war, and shows death in royal circles. Afflicted Uranus in the 10th house points to sudden developments with much trouble in Government circles which may result in defeat and resignation. It also points to attacks against members of the royalty and of the ruling party. The conservative Government may be defeated this year. The Moon in the 12th house opposite Pluto points to increasing poverty, much illness among the people, scandals involving hospitals and charities, increasing crime against women and children, and a general rise in crime and violence through the nation.

The vernal equinox in Bruxelles chart is almost exactly the same as in the UK. The conditions shown in the UK will be similar in Bruxelles, therefore in all of the EU. We can expect turmoil in Government circles with leaders being defeated, while violence and crime, poverty and illness are on the rise everywhere in the Euro zone.

The vernal equinox in Germany chart is also the same s in the UK. The indications lead us to anticipate the coming defeat of Mme. Merkel's Government. The Sun, Mars and Uranus are in interception in the 10th house in this chart. That says that there is coming conflict and interference in the Government process. While this is happening, however, Germany's foreign trade relations, especially overseas appears to be growing.

The vernal equinox in Russia chart has the Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 9th house square the Moon in the 11th, and Pluto in the 7th house. This points to potentially productive tensions in foreign trade relations, possibly involving oil and gas. Moon in Cancer trine Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, trine Saturn in Scorpio shows the increasing development of oil and gas reserves. Mars rules the 10th house. In the 9th, Mars shows the Putin Administration appearing to aggressively take advantage of foreign trade opportunities amidst troubled conditions abroad. Mars and Uranus afflicted in the 9th house also point to violence as well as possibilities of large fires in one or another of the provinces.

The vernal equinox in Israel, as shown by the chart made for Jerusalem, very similar to the chart made for Moscow, has the Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 9th house square Moon in the 12th house and Pluto in the 6th. It shows the Government aggressively persuing foreign trade. There will be continued violence in the Palestinian territories, and there will be an increase in poverty in Israel as well as in the territories with increase of disease and crime. No foreign war is showing in this chart.

The vernal equinox in India chart has Jupiter at the zenith. This is very fortunate for the Government. But Jupiter square and mutual reception to Mercury tell that there is much finagling going on involving the opposition party and foreign relations that complicate and confuse Government affairs. The Sun, Mars and Uranus straddle the 8th house cusp with Moon in the 11th house and Pluto in the 5th telling that there is much bickering in the Parliament involving diplomatic relations connected to financial concerns. Mars and Uranus afflicted in the 8th house show many suicides, and many sudden and violent deaths by accidents and crimes.

The vernal equinox in Pakistan chart is similar to that of India. Jupiter in the 10th house protects the Government, but square Mercury, the Government is entangled in many complex affairs involving much trickery. Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 8th house warns of dangers of violence and sudden deaths, possibly in the east and southwest of the country.

The vernal equinox in China chart has Venus, Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 6th house with Moon conjunct the mid-heaven and Pluto conjunct the nadir. Mars and Uranus afflicted in the 6th house point to much infectious and inflammatory disease coming. It also points to fires, explosions, and serious accidents with losses of life in military installations and places of labor that will be of great concern to the Government. Pluto conjunct the nadir square Mars and Uranus, and opposite the Moon warns of the housing bubble imploding. Saturn in the 2nd house retrograde points to poor revenue and danger of financial stagnation. But Saturn trine the Moon, Mercury and Neptune will mitigate the danger to some degree.

The vernal equinox in Australia chart has Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 5th house with Moon in the 8th and Pluto in the 2nd. This brings much crime against women and children, danger of violence in places of amusement including theaters and sports arenas. It also brings danger of violence, accidents and fires to schools and to parties. There will be notible deaths among entertainers. Sun, Mars and Uranus afflicted in the 5th house also brings diplomatic troubles. Moon in the 8th house and Pluto in the 2nd show this in connection to financial interests. Mercury in the 4th house square Jupiter in the 7th shows finagling in land deals with foreigners. Who is buying up Australia?

The vernal equinox in New Zealand chart has Venus, Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 4th house square Pluto in the 1st and Moon in the 7th. There will be violent earth activity there. It is almost certain that there will be a large earthquake. The 4th house cusp is in Pisces. There may be a tsunami as well. At the same time, Sun, Mars and Uranus are in Aries, a fire sign denoting fire. There may also be a volcanic eruption. This, of course, is also possible in all of the islands in the region.

The vernal equinox in the USA chart has Venus, Sun, Mars and Uranus in the 1st house with Pluto in the 10th and Moon in the 4th. This points to the people becoming very angry with the Government. There is serious danger of violence in the country. Pluto in the 10th opposite Moon in the 4th shows the incumbent and the opposition at odds with one another over things that have nothing to do with the people and at the same time passing legislation that is to the disadvantage of the people. It appears that the Government becomes more and more entangled in more and more complicated affairs while ignoring the people. Jupiter rules the 10th house, and Mercury rules the 4th. Jupiter is in the 3rd and Mercury is in the 12th. Fruitless arguments and chicanery are indicated, and the press is misdirecting the attention of the people. The Ascendent of the US vernal equinox chart is in Pisces denoting that this conditions will continue about half the year. And while there is talk about possible war with Iran, this chart does not show it.

Astrological prediction for June elections in Greece

As noted in an article in Der Spiegel (http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/greece-to-hold-new-election-in-june-after-coalition-talks-collapse-a-833373.html)  new elections will be held in Greece, probably on June 17th. The lunation chart prior to the election was drawn up to see what is unfolding. The lunation prior to the election is the lunar eclipse of June 4th. The eclipse at Athens is at 1:04 EET.

The lunar eclipse is at 14 degrees Sagittarius in the 3rd house opposite the Sun in the 9th house in Athens. This eclipses international relations; Greece is not about to conform to the expectations of the EU.

The important significators for the outcome are Saturn and Jupiter. Saturn is at 23 degrees Libra in the 2nd house exactly trine Mercury at 23 degrees Gemini in the 10th house; Mercury rules the 10th house. Jupiter is at 28 degrees Taurus in the 9th house conjunct the Pleiades. The chart favors the working class and the poor, as shown by Saturn, over the conservative and wealthy international class, as shown by Jupiter. Jupiter conjunct Pleiades spells trouble; it gives the conservative Eurocrats something to grieve about. Mercury in the 10th house trine Saturn in the 2nd shows the Government of Greece coming around to the people. It is only a matter of time before Greece defaults. The time for that, if not sooner, will be toward the end of this year.

Saturn in the eclipse chart is exactly conjunct the natal position of Greece's Uranus. Mercury is also trine that position of Uranus. Uranus in the natal chart of Greece (July 24, 1974 at 4:00 EET) is in the 4th house. The Government is changing radically in face of popular opposition to the austerity measures.

Jupiter in the eclipse chart is exactly square the natal position of Greece's Mars. Mars in the natal chart is in the 2nd house. This shows huge losses that cannot be prevented, much to the dismay of the international community. Greece is in revolt. The election will not favor the EU.

What the full moon of May 6th shows

The full moon occurs on May 6th at 3:36, GMT. May 6th is Super Sunday, a day of key elections in Greece, France, and Germany. Planets showing general political trends are Jupiter and Saturn.

Jupiter, representing the wealthier, more conservative forces, is peregrine, combust, in a critical degree, and opposite the Moon, thus in a fairly weakened condition. Moon opposite Jupiter shows that the position held by the conservative economic forces is approaching a turning point.
Saturn, representing the poorer people, and the working classes, is exalted, yet retrograde; opposite Mercury and trine Venus. Saturn is in a somewhat stronger position than Jupiter.
Saturn and Jupiter are in a quincunx aspect, showing that adjustments must be made. Status quo is going to change.

Using Geodetic equivalents, Mercury is at the zenith of Athens opposite Saturn at the nadir. This shows severe disagreement between the people and the Government. No option is going to work now. The election is going to bring out more despair.
Looking at the national chart of Greece, Saturn in the full moon chart is conjunct Greece's natal Uranus in the 4th house. The discontentment is being galvanized. The trouble connects to foreign involvements. Uranus rules Greece's 9th house. Nothing offered at this election will resolve the crisis in Greece.

Looking at the national chart of France, the Sun and full Moon form squares with France's natal Uranus at 15 degrees Leo. This stresses the economic crisis in France. Neptune in the full moon chart is at 2 degrees Pisces, exactly square France's Mars. Mars rules the Mid-heaven of France's national chart. This presents a major threat to the current Government. Transiting Neptune is also opposite France's Pluto. The country is deeply discontent.

In the chart of Germany we see Uranus coming to opposition Germany's Sun. Uranus is now at 6 degrees Aries. Germany's Sun is at 9 degrees Libra. Because Uranus turns retrograde at 8 degrees Aries in July, it doesn't reach the exact opposition with Germany's Sun until April, 2013. From there Uranus will make square aspects with Germany's Neptune and Saturn.

The current changes in Europe will weaken and compromise Frau Merkel's position in Europe. It may take another year to completely undo her Government. Using geodetic equivalents Uranus comes to the zenith at Berlin in two years, or April 2014. Germany will undergo some deep changes up to and through that time.
